Section 60 Contract Act 1872 :Application of payment where debt to be discharged is not indicated - Where the debtor has omitted to intimate, and there are no other circumstances indicating to which debt the payment is to be applied, the creditor may apply it at his discretion to any lawful debt actually due and payable to him from the debtor, whether its recovery is or is not barred by the law in force for the time being as to the limitations of suits

भारतीय संविदा अधिनियम, 1872 की धारा 60 का विवरण : - जहाँ कि वह ऋण उपदर्शित न हो जिसका उन्मोचन किया जाना है, वहाँ संदाय का उपयोजन -- जहाँ कि ऋणी ने यह प्रज्ञापित नहीं किया है और कोई परिस्थितियाँ नहीं हैं जिनसे यह उपदर्शित होता हो कि वह संदाय किस ऋण के लिए उपयोजित किया जाना है वहाँ लेनदार स्वविवेकानुसार उसे ऐसे किसी विधिपूर्ण ऋण मद्दे उपयोजित कर सकेगा जो ऋणी द्वारा उसे वस्तुतः शोध्य और देय हो, चाहे उसकी वसूली वाद की परिसीमा सम्बन्धी तत्समय प्रवृत्त विधि द्वारा वारित हो या न हो।
