Section 32 Negotiable Instruments Act, 1881 :In the absence of a contract to the contrary, the maker of a promissory note and the acceptor before maturity of a bill of exchange are bound to pay the amount thereof at maturity according to the apparent tenor of the note or acceptance respectively, and the acceptor of a bill of exchange at or after maturity is bound to pay the amount thereof to the holder on demand.

în default of such payment as aforesaid, such maker or acceptor is bound to compensate any party to the note or bill for any loss or damage sustained by him and caused by such default

परक्राम्य लिखत अधिनियम, 1881 की धारा 32 का विवरण :  -  तत्प्रतिकूल संविदा न हो तो वचन-पत्र का रचयिता और विनिमय-पत्र के परिपक्व होने के पूर्व उसको प्रतिगृहीता क्रमशः वचन-पत्र या प्रतिग्रहण के प्रकट शब्दों के अनुसार उसकी परिपक्वता पर उसकी रकम और विनिमय-पत्र का प्रतिगृहीता उसकी परिपक्वता पर या परिपक्वता के पश्चात् उसकी रकम धारक को माँग पर संदत्त करने के लिए आबद्ध है।

पूर्वोक्त जैसे संदाय में व्यतिक्रम होने पर ऐसा रचयिता या प्रतिगृहीता बचन-पत्र या विनिमय-पत्र के किसी भी पक्षकार को किसी ऐसी हानि या नुकसान के लिए प्रतिकर देने के लिए आबद्ध है जो उसे उठाना पड़ा है। और ऐसे व्यतिक्रम से हुआ है
