Section 25 Negotiable Instruments Act, 1881 :When the day on which a promissory note or bill of exchange is at maturity is a public holiday, the instrument shall be deemed to be due on the next preceding business day.
Explanation -- The expression “public holiday” includes Sundays and any other day declared by the Central Government, by notification in the Official Gazette to be a public holiday.

परक्राम्य लिखत अधिनियम, 1881 की धारा 25 का विवरण : - जब कि वह दिन, जिसको कोई वचन-पत्र या विनिमय-पत्र परिपक्व हो जाएगा, लोक अवकाश दिन हो तब लिखत ठीक पूर्ववर्ती कारबार वाले दिन शोध्य समझी जाएगी ।
स्पष्टीकरण -- ‘‘लोक अवकाश दिन' पद के अन्तर्गत रविवार आता है और ऐसा कोई भी अन्य दिन आता है जिसे केन्द्रीय सरकार ने शासकीय राजपत्र में अधिसूचना द्वारा लोक अवकाश दिन घोषित किया है।
