Section 24 Contract Act 1872 :Agreements void, if considerations and objects unlawful in part -- If any part of a single consideration for one or more objects, or any one or any part of any one of several considerations for a single object, is unlawful, the agreement is void. .


Illustration

A promises to superintend, on behalf of B, a legal manufacturer of indigo, and an illegal traffic in other articles. B promises to pay to A a salary of 10,000 rupees a year. The agreement is void, the object of A's promise, and the consideration for B's promise, being in part unlawful

भारतीय संविदा अधिनियम, 1872 की धारा 24 का विवरण :  -   यदि प्रतिफल और उद्देश्य भागतः विधिविरुद्ध हों तो करार शून्य होंगे -- यदि एक या अधिक उद्देश्यों के लिए किसी एकल प्रतिफल का कोई भाग, या किसी एक उद्देश्य के लिए कई प्रतिफलों में से कोई एक या किसी एक को कोई भाग विधिविरुद्ध हो तो करार शून्य है।

दृृष्‍टांत 

'क' नील के वैध विनिर्माण का, और अन्य वस्तुओं में अवैध दुव्र्यापार का 'ख' की ओर से अधीक्षण करने का वचन देता है। 'ख' 10,000 रुपये वार्षिक संबलम 'क' को देने का वचन देता है। यह करार इस कारण शून्य है कि 'क' के वचन का उद्देश्य और 'ख' के वचन के लिए प्रतिफल भागतः विधिविरुद्ध है।
