Section 234 Contract Act 1872 :Consequence of inducing agent or principal to act on belief that principal or agent will be held exclusively liable — When a person who has made a contract with an agent induces the agent to act upon the belief that the principal only will be held liable, or induces the principal to act upon the belief that the agent only will be held liable, he cannot afterwards hold liable the agent or principal respectively.

भारतीय संविदा अधिनियम, 1872 की धारा 234 का विवरण :  -  अभिकर्ता या मालिक को इस विश्वास पर कार्य करने के लिए उत्प्रेरित करने का परिणाम कि केवल मालिक या केवल अभिकर्ता दायी ठहराया जाएगा -- जबकि कोई व्यक्ति, जिसने किसी अभिकर्ता से संविदा की हो, उस अभिकर्ता को इस विश्वास पर कार्य करने के लिए उत्प्रेरित करे कि केवल मालिक ही दायी ठहराया जाएगा या मालिक को इस विश्वास पर कार्य करने के लिए उत्प्रेरित करे कि केवल अभिकर्ता ही दायी ठहराया जाएगा तब वह, यथास्थिति, अभिकर्ता या मालिक को तत्पश्चात् दायी नहीं ठहरा सकता
