Section 233 Contract Act 1872 :Right of person dealing with agent personally liable - In cases where the agent is personally liable, a person dealing with him may hold either him or his principal, or both of them liable

Illustrations

A enters into a contract with B to sell him 100 bales of cotton, and afterwards discovers that B was acting as agent for C. A may sue either B or C, or both, for the price of the cotton.

भारतीय संविदा अधिनियम, 1872 की धारा 233 का विवरण :  - वैयक्तिक रूप से दायी अभिकर्ता से व्यवहार करने वाले व्यक्ति का अधिकार -- उन मामलों में जिनमें कि अभिकर्ता वैयक्तिक रूप से दायी हो, उससे व्यवहार करने वाले व्यक्ति या तो उसको या उसके मालिक को या उन दोनों को दायी ठहरा सकेगा।

दृष्टान्त

रूई की 100 गांठे 'ख' को बेचने की संविदा उससे 'क' करता है और तत्पश्चात् उसे पता चलता है कि 'ग' की ओर से 'ख' अभिकर्ता के रूप में कार्य कर रहा था। क उस रूई की कीमत के लिए या तो 'ख' पर या 'ग' पर या दोनों पर वाद ला सकेगा
