Section 17 Negotiable Instruments Act, 1881 : Where an instrument may be construed either as a promissory note or bill of exchange, the holder may at his election treat it as either and the instrument shall be thenceforward treated accordingly.

परक्राम्य लिखत अधिनियम, 1881 की धारा 17 का विवरण :  -  जहाँ कि लिखत का अर्थ वचन-पत्र या विनिमय-पत्र दोनों लगाया जा सकता है वहाँ धारक अपने निर्वाचन द्वारा उसे दोनों में से किसी भी रूप में बरत सकेगा और तत्पश्चात् वह लिखत तद्नुसार बरती जाएगी ।
