Section 139 Evidence Act 1872 :Cross-examination of person called to produce a document -- A person summoned to produce a document does not become a witness by the mere fact that he produces it, and cannot be cross-examined unless and until he is called as a witness.

भारतीय साक्ष्य अधिनियम, 1872 की धारा 139 का विवरण :  -  . किसी दस्तावेज को पेश करने के लिए समनित व्यक्ति की प्रतिपरीक्षा -- किसी दस्तावेज को पेश करने के लिए समनित व्यक्ति केवल इस तथ्य के कारण कि वह उसे पेश करता है साक्षी नहीं हो जाता तथा यदि और जब तक वह साक्षी के तौर पर बुलाया नहीं जाता, उसकी प्रतिपरीक्षा नहीं की जा सकती।
