Section 1 The Industrial Disputes Act, 1947: 

Short title, extent and commencement.-

(1) This Act may be called the Industrial Disputes Act, 1947 .

(2) 2 It extends to the whole of India: 3

(3) It shall come into force on the first day of April, 1947 .
