Section 57 CrPC in Hindi and English



Section 57 of CrPC 1973 :-  57. Person arrested not to be detained more than twenty-four hours – No police officer shall detain in custody a person arrested without warrant for a longer period than under all the circumstances of the case is reasonable and such period shall not, in the absence of a special order of a Magistrate under section 167, exceed twenty-four hours exclusive of the time necessary for the journey from the place of arrest to the Magistrate's Court.

दंड प्रक्रिया संहिता 1973 की धारा 57 का विवरण :  -  57. गिरफ्तार किए गए व्यक्ति का चौबीस घण्टे से अधिक निरुद्ध न किया जाना -- कोई पुलिस अधिकारी वारण्ट के बिना गिरफ्तार किए गए व्यक्ति को उससे अधिक अवधि के लिए अभिरक्षा में निरुद्ध नहीं रखेगा जो उस मामले की सब परिस्थितियों में उचित है तथा ऐसी अवधि, मजिस्ट्रेट के धारा 167 के अधीन विशेष आदेश के अभाव में गिरफ्तारी के स्थान से मजिस्ट्रेट के न्यायालय तक यात्रा के लिए आवश्यक समय को छोड़कर, चौबीस घण्टे से अधिक की नहीं होगी।
