Section 88 Evidence Act 1872 :Presumption as to telegraphic messages -- The Court may presume that a message, forwarded from a telegraph office to the person to whom such message purports to be addressed, corresponds with a message delivered for transmission at the office from which the message purports to be sent; but the Court shall not make any presumption as to the person by whom such message was delivered for transmission.

भारतीय साक्ष्य अधिनियम, 1872 की धारा 88 का विवरण :  -  तार संदेशों के बारे में उपधारणा -- न्यायालय यह उपधारित कर सकेगा कि कोई संदेश, जो किसी तार घर से उस व्यक्ति को भेजा गया है, जिसे ऐसे संदेश का संबोधित होना तात्पर्यित है, उस संदेश के समरूप है जो भेजे जाने के लिए उस कार्यालय को, जहां से वह संदेश पारेषित किया गया तात्पर्यित है, परिदत्त किया गया था, किन्तु न्यायालय उस व्यक्ति के बारे में, जिसने संदेश पारेषित किए जाने के लिए परिदत्त किया था, कोई उपधारणा नहीं करेगा।
