Section 120 Evidence Act 1872 :Parties to civil suit, and their wives or husbands. Husband or wife of person under criminal trial -- In all civil proceedings the parties to the suit, and the husband or wife of any party to the suit, shall be competent witnesses. In criminal proceedings against any person, the husband or wife of such person, respectively, shall be a competent witness.

भारतीय साक्ष्य अधिनियम, 1872 की धारा 120 का विवरण : - सिविल वाद के पक्षकार और उनकी पत्नियाँ या पति, दाण्डिक विचारण के अधीन व्यक्ति का पति या पत्नी -- सभी सिविल कार्यवाहियों में वाद के पक्षकार और वाद के किसी पक्षकार का पति या पत्नी सक्षम साक्षी होंगे। किसी व्यक्ति के विरुद्ध दाण्डिक कार्यवाही में उस व्यक्ति का पति या पत्नी सक्षम साक्षी होगा या होगी।
