भारतीय साक्ष्य अधिनियम, 1872 की धारा 36 का विवरण :  -   मानचित्रों, चार्टों और रेखांकों के कथनों की सुसंगति -- विवाद्यक तथ्यों या सुसंगत तथ्यों के वे कथन, जो प्रकाशित मानचित्रों या चार्टों में, जो लोक विक्रय के लिए साधारणतः प्रस्थापित किए जाते हैं, अथवा केन्द्रीय सरकार या किसी राज्य सरकार के प्राधिकार के अधीन बनाए गए मानचित्रों या रेखांकों में किए गए हैं उन विषयों के बारे में जो ऐसे मानचित्रों, चार्टों या रेखांकों में प्रायः रूपित या कथित होते हैं, स्वयं सुसंगत तथ्य हैं।
