Section 2A Motor Vehicles Act, 1988 in Hindi and English



Section 2A of MV Act 1988 :-  E-cart and e-rickshaw -- (1) Save as otherwise provided in the proviso to sub-section (1) of section 7 and sub-section (10) of section 9, the provisions of this Act shall apply to e-cart and e-rickshaw.

(2) For the purposes of this section, “e-cart or e-rickshaw” means a special purpose battery-powered vehicle of power not exceeding 4000 watts, having three wheels for carrying goods or passengers, as the case may be, for hire or reward, manufactured, constructed or adapted, equipped and maintained in accordance with such specifications, as may be prescribed in this behalf.

मोटर यान अधिनियम, 1988 की धारा 2क का विवरण :  -  2क. ई-गाड़ी और ई-रिक्शा -- (1) धारा 7 की उपधारा (1) के परंतुक और धारा 9 की उपधारा (10) में जैसा अन्यथा उपबंधित है, उसके सिवाय, इस अधिनियम के उपबंध ई-गाड़ी और ई-रिक्शा को लागू होंगे । 

(2) इस धारा के प्रयोजनों के लिए, “ई-गाड़ी या ई-रिक्शा' से, भाड़े या पारिश्रमिक के लिए, यथास्थिति, माल या यात्रियों के वहन हेतु ऐसे विनिर्देशों के अनुसार, जो इस निमित्त विहित किए जाएं, विनिर्मित, सन्निर्मित या अनुकूलित, सुसज्जित और अनुरक्षित एक तीन पहियों वाला 4000 वाट से अनधिक विद्युत शक्ति का विशेष प्रयोजन बैटरी युक्त यान अभिप्रेत है ।
