Section 287 of CrPC 1973 :- 287. Parties may examine witnesses — 

(1) The parties to any proceeding under this Code in which a commission is issued may respectively forward any interrogatories in writing which the Court or Magistrate directing the commission may think relevant to the issue, and it shall be lawful for the Magistrate, Court or officer to whom the Commission is directed, or to whom the duty of executing it is delegated, to examine the witness upon such interrogatories.

(2) Any such party may appear before such Magistrate, Court or officer by pleader, or if not in custody, in person, and may examine, cross-examine and re-examine (as the case may be) the said witness.

दंड प्रक्रिया संहिता 1973 की धारा 287 का विवरण :  -  287. पक्षकार साक्षियों की परीक्षा कर सकेंगे -- 

(1) इस संहिता के अधीन किसी ऐसी कार्यवाही के पक्षकार, जिसमें कमीशन जारी किया गया है, अपने-अपने ऐसे लिखित परिप्रश्न भेज सकते हैं जिन्हें कमीशन का निदेश देने वाला न्यायालय या मजिस्ट्रेट विवाद्यक से सुसंगत समझता है और उस मजिस्ट्रेट, न्यायालय या अधिकारी के लिए, जिसे कमीशन निर्दिष्ट किया जाता है या जिसे उसके निष्पादन का कर्तव्य प्रत्यायोजित किया जाता है, यह विधिपूर्ण होगा कि वह ऐसे परिप्रश्नों के आधार पर साक्षी की परीक्षा करे ।

(2) कोई ऐसा पक्षकार ऐसे मजिस्ट्रेट, न्यायालय या अधिकारी के समक्ष प्लीडर द्वारा, या यदि अभिरक्षा में नहीं है तो स्वयं हाजिर हो सकता है और उक्त साक्षी की (यथास्थिति) परीक्षा, प्रति-परीक्षा और पुनःपरीक्षा कर सकता है।
