Section 194B of MV Act 1988 :- Use of safety belts and the seating of children -- (1) Whoever drives a motor vehicle without wearing a safety belt or carries passengers not wearing seat belts shall be punishable with a fine of one thousand rupees:

Provided that the State Government, may by notification in the Official Gazette, exclude the application of this sub-section to transport vehicles to carry standing passengers or other specified classes of transport vehicles.

(2) Whoever drives a motor vehicle or causes or allows a motor vehicle to be driven with a child who, not having attained the age of fourteen years, is not secured by a safety belt or a child restraint system shall be punishable with a fine of one thousand rupees.

मोटर यान अधिनियम, 1988 की धारा 194ख का विवरण :  -  सुरक्षा बेल्टों का उपयोग और बालकों का बैठना -- (1) जो कोई, सुरक्षा बेल्ट के पहने बिना मोटर यान चलाता है या ऐसे यात्रियों को ले जाता है जिन्होंने सीट बेल्ट नहीं पहनी है एक हजार रुपए के जुर्माने से दंडनीय होगा :

परंतु राज्य सरकार, ऐसे परिवहन यानों को, जो खड़े हुए यात्रियों को वहन करते हैं या परिवहन यानों के अन्य विनिर्दिष्ट वर्गों को राजपत्र में अधिसूचना द्वारा इस उपधारा के लागू होने से अपवर्जित कर सकेगी।

(2) जो कोई, किसी ऐसे मोटर यान को चलाता है या चलवाता है या चलवाने के लिए अनुज्ञात करता है, जिसमें कोई ऐसा बालक है जिसने चौदह वर्ष की आयु प्राप्त नहीं की है और जो सुरक्षा बेल्ट या किसी बाल अवरोध प्रणाली द्वारा सुरक्षित नहीं है, एक हजार रुपए के जुर्माने से दंडनीय होगा ।
