Section 149 of CrPC 1973 :- 149. Police to prevent cognizable offences --- Every police officer may interpose for the purpose of preventing and shall, to the best of his ability, prevent, the commission of any cognizable offence.

दंड प्रक्रिया संहिता 1973 की धारा 149 का विवरण : - 149. पुलिस का संज्ञेय अपराधों का निवारण करना -- प्रत्येक पुलिस अधिकारी किसी संज्ञेय अपराध के किए जाने का निवारण करने के प्रयोजन से हस्तक्षेप कर सकेगा और अपनी पूरी सामर्थ्य से उसे निवारित करेगा।
