Section 139 of CrPC 1973 :- 139. Power of Magistrate to direct local investigation and examination of an expert — The Magistrate may, for the purposes of an inquiry under section 137 or section 138:

(a) direct a local investigation to be made by such person as he thinks fit; or

(b) summon and examine an expert.

दंड प्रक्रिया संहिता 1973 की धारा 139 का विवरण :  -  139. स्थानीय अन्वेषण के लिए निदेश देने और विशेषज्ञ की परीक्षा करने की मजिस्ट्रेट की शक्ति -- मजिस्ट्रेट धारा 137 या धारा 138 के अधीन किसी जांच के प्रयोजनों के लिए--

(क) ऐसे व्यक्ति द्वारा, जिसे वह ठीक समझे, स्थानीय अन्वेषण किए जाने के लिए निदेश दे सकता है; अथवा

(ख) किसी विशेषज्ञ को समन कर सकता है और उसकी परीक्षा कर सकता है।
