Section 389 IPC in Hindi and English



Section 389 of IPC 1860:- Putting person in fear of accusation of offence, in order to commit extortion -

Whoever, in order to the committing of extortion, puts or attempts to put any person in fear of an accusation, against that person or any other, of having committed, or attempted to commit an offence punishable with death or with 'imprisonment for life, or with imprisonment for a term which may extend to ten years, shall be punished with imprisonment of either description for a term which may extend to ten years, and shall also be liable to fine; and, if the offence be punishable under section 377 of this Code, may be punished with '[imprisonment for life].

आईपीसी, 1860 (भारतीय दंड संहिता) की धारा 389 का विवरण -  उद्दापन करने के लिए किसी व्यक्ति को अपराध का अभियोग लगाने के भय में डालना -

जो कोई उद्दापन करने के लिए किसी व्यक्ति को, स्वयं उसके विरुद्ध या किसी अन्य व्यक्ति के विरुद्ध यह अभियोग लगाने का भय दिखलाएगा या यह भय दिखलाने का प्रयत्न करेगा कि उसने ऐसा अपराध किया है या करने का प्रयत्न किया है, जो मृत्यु से या आजीवन कारावास से या दस वर्ष तक के कारावास से दण्डनीय है, वह दोनों में से किसी भांति के कारावास से, जिसकी अवधि दस वर्ष तक की हो सकेगी, दण्डित किया जाएगा और जुर्माने से भी दण्डनीय होगा, तथा यदि वह अपराध ऐसा हो जो इस संहिता की धारा 377 के अधीन दण्डनीय है, तो वह आजीवन कारावास से दण्डित किया जा सकेगा।
