Section 496 IPC in Hindi and English



Section 496 of IPC 1860:-   Marriage ceremony was fraudulently gone through without lawful marriage -

Whoever, dishonestly or with a fraudulent intention, goes through the ceremony of being married, knowing that he is not thereby lawfully married, shall be punished with imprisonment of either description for a term which may extend to seven years, and shall also be liable to fine.

आईपीसी, 1860 (भारतीय दंड संहिता) की धारा 496 का विवरण -  विधिपूर्ण विवाह के बिना कपटपूर्वक विवाह कर्म पूरा कर लेना -

जो कोई बेईमानी से या कपटपूर्ण आशय से विवाहित होने का कर्म यह जानते हुए पूरा करेगा कि तद्द्वारा वह विधिपूर्वक विवाहित नहीं हुआ है, वह दोनों में से किसी भांति के कारावास से, जिसकी अवधि सात वर्ष तक की हो सकेगी, दण्डित किया जाएगा और जुर्माने से भी दण्डनीय होगा।
