Section 195 of IPC 1860:-Giving or fabricating false evidence with intent to procure conviction of offence punishable with imprisonment for life or imprisonment -

Whoever gives or fabricates false evidence intending thereby to cause, or knowing it to be likely that he will thereby cause, any person to be convicted of an offence which [by the law for the time being in force in India is not capital, but punishable with imprisonment for life, or imprisonment for a term of seven years or upwards, shall be punished as a person convicted of that offence would be liable to be punished.

आईपीसी, 1860 (भारतीय दंड संहिता) की धारा 195 का विवरण -आजीवन कारावास या कारावास से दण्डनीय अपराध के लिए दोषसिद्ध कराने के आशय से मिथ्या साक्ष्य देना या गढ़ना -

जो कोई इस आशय से या यह संभाव्य जानते हुए कि एतद्द्वारा वह किसी व्यक्ति को ऐसे अपराध के लिए, जो भारत में तत्समय प्रवृत्त किसी विधि द्वारा मृत्यु से दण्डनीय न हो किन्तु आजीवन कारावास या सात वर्ष या उससे अधिक की अवधि के कारावास से दण्डनीय हो, दोषसिद्ध कराए, मिथ्या साक्ष्य देगा या गढ़ेगा, वह वैसे ही दण्डित किया जाएगा जैसे वह व्यक्ति दण्डनीय होता जो उस अपराध के लिए दोषसिद्ध होता।
