Sction 249 IPC in Hindi and English
Section 249 of IPC 1860:- Altering appearance of Indian coin with intent that it shall pass as coin of different description -
Whoever performs on any Indian coin any operation which alters the appearance of that coin, with the intention that the said coin shall pass as a coin of a different description, shall be punished with imprisonment of either description for a term which may extend to seven years, and shall also be liable to fine.

आईपीसी, 1860 (भारतीय दंड संहिता) की धारा 249 का विवरण - इस आशय से भारतीय सिक्के का रूप परिवर्तित करना कि वह भिन्न प्रकार के सिक्के के रूप में चल जाए -
जो कोई किसी भारतीय सिक्के पर इस आशय से कि वह सिक्का भिन्न प्रकार के सिक्के के रूप में चल जाए, कोई ऐसी क्रिया करेगा जिससे उस सिक्के का रूप परिवर्तित हो जाए, वह दोनों में से किसी भांति के कारावास से, जिसकी अवधि सात वर्ष तक की हो सकेगी, दण्डित किया जाएगा और जुर्माने से भी दण्डनीय होगा।
