 Section 246 IPC in Hindi and English



Section 246 of IPC 1860:- Fraudulently or dishonestly diminishing weight or altering composition of coin -

Whoever fraudulently or dishonestly performs on any coin any operation which diminishes the weight or alters the composition of that coin, shall be punished with imprisonment of either description for a term which may extend to three years, and shall also be liable to fine.

आईपीसी, 1860 (भारतीय दंड संहिता) की धारा 246 का विवरण - कपटपूर्वक या बेईमानी से सिक्के का वजन कम करना या मिश्रण परिवर्तित करना -

जो कोई कपटपूर्वक या बेईमानी से किसी सिक्के पर कोई ऐसी क्रिया करेगा, जिससे उस सिक्के का वजन कम हो जाए, या उसका मिश्रण परिवर्तित हो जाए, वह दोनों में से किसी भांति के कारावास से, जिसकी अवधि तीन वर्ष तक की हो सकेगी, दण्डित किया जाएगा और जुर्माने से भी दण्डनीय होगा। 

स्पष्टीकरण - वह व्यक्ति, जो सिक्के के किसी भाग को खुरच कर निकाल देता है, और उस गढ्ढे में कोई अन्य वस्तु भर देता है, उस सिक्के का मिश्रण परिवर्तित करता है।
