 Kunapareddy @ Nookala Shanka Balaji v. Kunapareddy Swarna Kumari - Supreme Court Important Judgment 2016 - 

On 18th April, 2016, in the case of Kunapareddy @ Nookala Shanka Balaji v. Kunapareddy Swarna Kumari & Anr. [Criminal Appeal No.516 of 2016], it was held that “it cannot be said that the Court dealing with the application under the Domestic Violence Act, 2005 has no power and/or jurisdiction to allow the amendment of the said application.” It was held that if the amendment becomes necessary in view of subsequent events or to avoid multiplicity of litigation, Court will have the power to permit such an amendment.
