Section 77 Arbitration and Conciliation Act, 1996:
Resort to arbitral or judicial proceedings.—The parties shall not initiate, during the conciliation proceedings, any arbitral or judicial proceedings in respect of a dispute that is the subject-matter of the conciliation proceedings except that a party may initiate arbitral or judicial proceedings where, in his opinion, such proceedings are necessary for preserving his rights.

माध्यस्थम् या न्यायिक कार्यवाहियों का सहारा लेना-पक्षकार, सुलह कार्यवाहियों के दौरान, उस विवाद की बाबत, जो सुलह कार्यवाहियों की विषयवस्तु है, उसके सिवाय कि जहां किसी पक्षकार की यह राय है कि उसके अधिकारों के संरक्षण के लिए ऐसी कार्यवाहियां आवश्यक हैं वहां वह माध्यस्थम् या न्यायिक कार्यवाहियां आरम्भ कर सकता है, कोई माध्यस्थम् या न्यायिक कार्यवाहियां आरंभ नहीं करेंगे ।
