Section 119 of IPC 1860:- Public servant concealing design to commit offence which it is his duty to prevent -
Whoever, being a public servant, intending to facilitate or knowing it to be likely that he will thereby facilitate the commission of an offence which it is his duty as such public servant to prevent;
voluntarily conceals by any act or omission or by the use of encryption or any other information hiding tool, the existence of a design to commit such offence, or makes any representation which he knows to be false respecting such design;
If offence be committed - shall, if the offence be committed, be punished with imprisonment of any description provided for the offence, for a term which may extend to one-half of the longest term of such imprisonment, or with such fine as is provided for that offence, or with both;
If offence be punishable with death, etc. - or, if the offence be punishable with death or imprisonment for life, with imprisonment of either description for a term which may extend to ten years;
If offence be not committed - or if the offence be not committed, shall be punished with imprisonment of any description provided for the offence for a term which may extend to one-fourth part of the longest term of such imprisonment or with such fine as is provided for the offence, or with both
Illustration -
A, an officer of police, being legally bound to give information of all designs to commit robbery which may come to his knowledge, and knowing that B designs to commit robbery, omits to give such information, with intent to facilitate the commission of that offence. Here A has by an illegal omission concealed the existence of B's design, and is liable to punishment according to the provision of this section.

आईपीसी, 1860 (भारतीय दंड संहिता) की धारा 119 का विवरण - किसी ऐसे अपराध के किए जाने की परिकल्पना का लोक-सेवक द्वारा छिपाया जाना, जिसका निवारण करना उसका कर्तव्य है -
जो कोई लोक-सेवक होते हुए उस अपराध का किया जाना, जिसका निवारण करना ऐसे लोक- सेवक के नाते उसका कर्तव्य है, सुकर बनाने के आशय से या संभाव्यतः तद्वारा सुकर बनाएगा यह जानते हुए,
ऐसे अपराध के किए जाने की परिकल्पना के अस्तित्व को किसी कार्य या लोप द्वारा या गूढ़लेखन के प्रयोग या जानकारी छुपाने के किसी अन्य उपाय द्वारा स्वेच्छया छिपाएगा या ऐसी परिकल्पना के बारे में ऐसा व्यपदेशन करेगा जिसका मिथ्या होना वह जानता है,
यदि अपराध कर दिया जाए - यदि ऐसा अपराध कर दिया जाए, तो वह उस अपराध के लिए उपबंधित किसी भाँति के कारावास से, जिसकी अवधि ऐसे कारावास की दीर्घतम अवधि से आधी तक की हो सकेगी, या जुर्माने से, जो उस अपराध के लिए उपबंधित है, या दोनों से;
यदि अपराध मृत्यु आदि से दण्डनीय है - अथवा यदि वह अपराध मृत्यु या आजीवन कारावास से दण्डनीय हो, तो वह दोनों में से किसी भांति के कारावास से, जिसकी अवधि दस वर्ष तक की हो सकेगी।
यदि अपराध नहीं किया जाए - अथवा यदि वह अपराध नहीं किया जाए, तो वह उस अपराध के लिए उपबंधित किसी भांति के कारावास से, जिसकी अवधि ऐसे कारावास की दीर्घतम अवधि की एक चौथाई तक की हो सकेगी या ऐसे जुर्माने से, जो उस अपराध के लिए उपबंधित है, या दोनों से, दण्डित किया जाएगा
दृष्टांत -
क, एक पुलिस ऑफिसर, लूट किए जाने से संबंधित सब परिकल्पनाओं की, जो उसको ज्ञात हो जाए, इत्तिला देने के लिए वैध रूप से आबद्ध होते हुए और यह जानते हुए कि ख लूट करने की परिकल्पना बना रहा है, उस अपराध के किए जाने को सुकर बनाने के आशय से ऐसी इत्तिला देने का लोप करता है। यहां क ने ख की परिकल्पना के अस्तित्व को एक अवैध लोप द्वारा छिपाया है, और वह इस धारा के उपबंध के अनुसार दण्डनीय है।
