Section 72 Negotiable Instruments Act, 1881 :Subject to the provisions of section 84 a cheque must, in order to charge the drawer, be presented at the bank upon which it is drawn before the relation between the drawer and his banker has been altered to the prejudice of the drawer.

परक्राम्य लिखत अधिनियम, 1881 की धारा 72 का विवरण :  - धारा 84 के उपबंधों के अध्यधीन] यह है कि इसलिए कि चैक लेखीवाल को भारित करे उसे उस बैंक में, जिस पर वह लिखा गया है, इसके पूर्व उपस्थापित करना होगा कि लेखीवाल और उसके बैंकार के बीच का सम्बन्ध ऐसे परिवर्तित हो जाए कि जिससे लेखीवाल पर प्रतिकूल प्रभाव पड़ा हो ।
