Section 50 The Army Act, 1950  :Irregularity in connection with arrest or confinement. Any person subject to this Act who

commits any of the following offences, that is to say,-

(a) unnecessarily detains a person in arrest or confinement without bringing him to trial, or fails to bring

his case before the proper authority for investigation; or

(b) having committed a person to military custody fails without reasonable cause to deliver at the time

of such com- mittal, or as soon as practicable, and in any case within forty- eight hours. thereafter, to

the officer or other person into whose custody the person arrested is committed, an account in writing

signed by himself of the offence with which the person so committed is charged; shall, on conviction

by court- martial, be liable to suffer imprisonment for a term which may extend to two years or such

less punishment as is in this Act mentioned.

सेना अधिनियम, 1950 की धारा 50 का विवरण :  - गिरफ्तारी या परिरोध के सम्बन्ध में अनियमित्तता - इस अधिनियम के अध्यधीन का कोई व्यक्ति, जो निम्नलिखित अपराधों में से कोई अपराध करेगा, अर्थात्

(क) किसी गिरफ्तार या परिरुद्ध व्यक्ति को विचारण के लिए लाए बिना अनावश्यक रूप से निरुद्ध रखेगा या उसका मामला अन्वेषण के लिए उचित प्राधिकारी के समक्ष लाने में अफसल रहेगा, अथवा

(ख) किसी व्यक्ति को सैनिक अभिरक्षा के लिए सुपुर्द करके, ऐसी सुपुर्दगी के समय या यथासाध्य शीघ्र और किसी भी दशा में तत्पश्चात् अड़तालीस घन्टों के अन्दर उस आफिसर या अन्य व्यक्ति को जिसकी अक्षिरक्षा में गिरफ्तार किया गया व्यक्ति सुपुर्द किया गया हो, उस अपराध का जिसका कि गिरफ्तार किए गए व्यक्ति पर आरोप है लिखित और स्वहस्ताक्षरित वृत्तान्त परिदत्त करने में युक्तियुक्त हेतुक के बिना असफल रहेगा, सेना-न्यायालय द्वारा दोषसिद्धि पर कारावास, जिसकी अवधि दो वर्ष तक की हो सकेगी, या ऐसा लघुतर दंड, जो इस अधिनियम में वर्णित है, भोगने के दायित्व के अधीन होगा।
