Section 53 IPC in Hindi and English


Section 53 of IPC 1860:-“Offence” –Punishments -

The punishments to which offenders are liable under the provisions of this Code are   

First — Death;

Secondly - Imprisonment for life;

Thirdly - Omitted.

Fourthly — Imprisonment, which is of two descriptions, namely:-

(1) Rigorous, that is, with hard labour;

(2) Simple;

Fifthly — Forfeiture of property;

Sixthly - Fine.

आईपीसी, 1860 (भारतीय दंड संहिता) की धारा 53 का विवरण - “दण्ड” -

अपराधी इस संहिता के उपबंधों के अधीन जिन दण्डों से दण्डनीय है, वे ये हैं

पहला - मृत्यु;

दूसरा - आजीवन कारावास;

तीसरा - विलोपित

चौथा - कारावास, जो दो भाँति का है, अर्थात्:-

(1) कठिन, अर्थात् कठोर श्रम के साथ;

(2) सादा;

पाँचवाँ -- सम्पत्ति का समपहरण;

छटा -- जुर्माना।
