Section 43 of IPC 1860:-“Offence” –"Illegal”, “Legally bound to do” —

The word “illegal" is applicable to everything which is an offence or which is prohibited by law, or which furnishes ground for a civil action; and a person is said to be “legally bound to do” whatever it is illegal in him to omit.

“अवैध" शब्द उस हर बात को लागू है, जो अपराध हो, या जो विधि द्वारा प्रतिषिद्ध हो, या जो सिविल कार्यवाही के लिए आधार उत्पन्न करती हो; और कोई व्यक्ति उस बात को "करने के लिए वैध रूप से आबद्ध” कहा जाता है जिसका लोप करना उसके लिए अवैध है।
