Section 203of IPC 1860:-"Wrongful gain" -

"Wrongful gain' is the gain by lawful means of property to which the person gaining is not legally entitled.

"Wrongful loss" - "Wrongful loss' is the loss by unlawful means of property to which the person losing it is legally entitled.

Gaining wrongfully - Losing wrongfully - A person is said to gain wrongfully when such person retains wrongfully, as well as when such person acquired wrongfully. A person is said to lose wrongfully when such person is wrongfully kept out of any property, as well as when such person is wrongfully deprived of property.

आईपीसी, 1860 (भारतीय दंड संहिता) की धारा 23 का विवरण - "सदोष अभिलाभ" -

"सदोष अभिलाभ" विधि विरुद्ध साधनों द्वारा ऐसी सम्पत्ति का अभिलाभ है, जिसका वैध रूप से हकदार अभिलाभ प्राप्त करने वाला व्यक्ति न हो।

"सदोष हानि" - "सदोष हानि" विरुद्ध साधनों द्वारा ऐसी सम्पत्ति की हानि है, जिसका वैध रूप से हकदार हानि उठाने वाला व्यक्ति हो।

सदोष अभिलाभ प्राप्त करना - सदोष हानि उठाना -  कोई व्यक्ति सदोष अभिलाभ प्राप्त करता है, यह तब कहा जाता है जब कि वह व्यक्ति सदोष रखे रखता है तब भी जब कि वह व्यक्ति सदोष अर्जन करता है। कोई व्यक्ति सदोष हानि उठाता है, यह तब कहा जाता है जबकि उसे किसी सम्पति से सदोष अलग रखा जाता है और तब भी जबकि उसे किसी सम्पत्ति से सदोष वंचित किया जाता है।
