Section 124A of IPC 1860:- Sedition -

Whoever, by words, either spoken or written, or by signs, or by visible representation, or otherwise, brings or attempts to bring into hatred or contempt, or excites or attempts to excite disaffection towards, the Government established by law in India, shall be punished with imprisonment for life, to which fine may be added, or with imprisonment which may extend to three years, to which fine may be added, or with fine.

Explanation 1- The expression "disaffection" includes disloyalty and all feelings of enmity.

Explanation 2 - Comments expressing disapprobation of the measures of the Government with a view to obtain their alteration by lawful means, without exciting or attempting to excite hatred, contempt or disaffection, do not constitute an offence under this section.

Explanation 3 - Comments expressing disapprobation of the administrative or other action of the Government without exciting or attempting to excite hatred, contempt or disaffection, do not constitute an offence under this section.

आईपीसी, 1860 (भारतीय दंड संहिता) की धारा 125क का विवरण - राजद्रोह -

जो कोई बोले गए या लिखे गए शब्दों द्वारा या संकेतों द्वारा, या दृश्यरूपण द्वारा या अन्यथा भारत में विधि द्वारा स्थापित सरकार के प्रति घृणा या अवमान पैदा करेगा, या पैदा करने का प्रयत्न करेगा, अप्रीति प्रदीप्त करेगा या प्रदीप्त करने का प्रयत्न करेगा, वह आजीवन कारावास से, जिसमें जुर्माना जोड़ा जा सकेगा या तीन वर्ष तक के कारावास से जिसमें जुर्माना जोड़ा जा सकेगा, या जुर्माने से दण्डित किया जाएगा।

 स्पष्टीकरण 1 - “अप्रीति" पद के अन्तर्गत अभक्ति और शत्रुता की समस्त भावनाएं आती हैं।  

स्पष्टीकरण 2 - घृणा, अवमान या अप्रीति को प्रदीप्त किए बिना या प्रदीप्त करने का प्रयत्न किए बिना, सरकार के कामों के प्रति विधिपूर्ण साधनों द्वारा उनको परिवर्तित कराने की दृष्टि से अनुमोदन प्रकट करने वाली टीका टिप्पणियां इस धारा के अधीन अपराध नहीं हैं।

स्पष्टीकरण 3 -- घृणा, अवमान या अप्रीति को प्रदीप्त किए बिना या प्रदीप्त करने का प्रयत्न किए बिना सरकार की प्रशासनिक या अन्य क्रिया के प्रति अनुमोदन प्रकट करने वाली टीका टिप्पणियाँ इस धारा के अधीन अपराध गठित नहीं करती।
